Please feel free to schedule a consultation with Dr. Kelly Hong today.
Dr. Hong believes that cosmetic dental treatment is just as much an art as it is a science. Being able to create a smile that enhances a person’s overall appearance takes an artist’s touch, and Dr. Hong, as a practicing sculptor and painter, has just such ability. If you would like to make a positive, lasting change that can have an appreciable impact on your quality of life, Dr. Hong can create a beautiful, bright white smile that is attractive and memorable. With an improved smile, you can enjoy greater self-confidence and self-esteem, be more social in group settings, and make a dazzling first impression on people. However, it’s difficult to accurately quantify the benefits of cosmetic dental treatment; to truly appreciate the benefits that can be provided to you, you have to experience them yourself! Learn more below about our cosmetic dental treatments.
Though cosmetic treatments are well-suited for many people, particularly those who enjoy sound oral health, many patients suffer from severe decay or are missing teeth as a result of dental trauma. In most cases, these patients require restorative dental treatment, including full mouth reconstructions through the use of dental implants, to improve and restore the functionality of their smiles. In addition to individuals with poor oral health, patients who suffer from TMJ disorder may also benefit from restorative dental treatment. With dental care, the symptoms associated with TMJ disorder can be greatly alleviated or eliminated, markedly improving a person’s comfort and quality of life. If you suffer pain, discomfort, or inhibited speaking and chewing function because of decayed or damaged teeth, Dr. Hong can evaluate your oral health and devise an effective treatment option. Learn more below about full mouth reconstructions.
Do you floss? Do you brush your teeth? You’re halfway there! With general dental treatment, including cleanings, oral examinations, X-rays, and cancer screenings, we can help you maintain the health and appearance of your teeth so that you can enjoy the benefits of an attractive, functioning smile for years to come. Though a sound at-home oral hygiene regimen is an important and effective way to fight off tooth decay, gum disease, and other dental complications, brushing and flossing alone often isn’t enough to ensure a healthy smile. By undergoing regular dental treatment at our Century City practice, and keeping up with regular care at home, you can greatly reduce the risk of cavities, gum disease and other conditions.

Your Smile Should Give You Reason to Smile!
At Kelly Hong Dental, helping our patients improve their smiles is a source of much pride and satisfaction. Though we offer a range of dental treatments to satisfy our patients’ varied needs, we particularly enjoy providing cosmetic dentistry at our Century City dental practice. Part of this enthusiasm stems from that fact that while many dentists offer cosmetic dentistry treatments, few approach it from an artist’s perspective. As an artist, Dr. Hong loves the aesthetic aspect of cosmetic dentistry and she treats the teeth as she would a canvas or clay mold. With her artistic talents, she is able to to create a smile that can have a transformative impact on her patients’ self-confidence, self-esteem, and social life, and this means a great deal to her. If you would like to smile with confidence, please contact Dr. Kelly Hong today to schedule a personal consultation.
Composite veneers are thin shells that are bonded to the surface of chipped, cracked, malformed, uneven, or discolored teeth. A cosmetic solution to minor imperfections and flaws, porcelain veneers do not inhibit regular function, and the placement procedure is minimally invasive. These attributes make veneers a popular treatment option for individuals seeking to revitalize the appearance of their smile. If you are looking for a bright, white, uniform smile, porcelain veneers may be for you – the benefits are many and the downsides are few! Learn more below about porcelain veneers.
As we age, our teeth’s natural luster tends to fade. Dietary habits such as drinking red wines or coffee, as well as lifestyle habits such as smoking can stain the teeth, further degrading the brilliance of our smiles. Even with whitening tooth pastes and regular oral hygiene, it can be difficult to fend off these effects. Quite simply, an otherwise beautiful set of teeth can be marred by discoloration. However, with professional teeth whitening, Dr. Hong can whiten the teeth significantly in less than one hour, and non-invasively. With a variety of teeth whitening systems on offer, including Zoom!®, Sapphire, and LUMIBRITETM, you and Dr. Hong can determine which one is right for you. Learn more below about teeth whitening.
For many patients, the Snap-On Smile® offers the perfect solution for minor cosmetic blemishes; non-invasive, removable, and affordable, this dental prosthetic provides the aesthetic benefits of porcelain veneers with the practical benefits of dentures. A patient can have a custom Snap-On Smile® crafted specifically for his or her smile in just two dental visits: the first to have the teeth molded, the second to have the prosthetic attached. Chips, cracks, discoloration, misshapen teeth and gaps can all be masked with a Snap-On Smile® restoration, and with proper care, it can last for up to five years. Learn more below about the Snap-On Smile®.
Six Month Smiles®
Six Month Smiles® is a modern twist on tried-and-true orthodontics. There is little debate within the orthodontic community that braces are the most widely used and most effective method to give patients straight, healthy teeth and a beautiful smile. Six Month Smiles has taken the best aspects of braces and modified the treatment and the materials to give adults a common-sense, cosmetic solution that fits your lifestyle. Here is what makes Six Month Smiles so innovative …
- Average treatment times of only six months
- Six Month Smiles Lucid-Lok™ clear brackets and tooth-colored wires are barely visible
- Use of braces has shown to provide the most conservative and predictable final result
- Six Month Smiles Patient Tray Kits™ ensure that your appointments are fast and comfortable
- Low forces and short overall treatment times increase comfort, safety, and hygiene
- Six Month Smiles is typically less expensive than traditional braces, aligner therapy, or veneers
An alternative to traditional metal braces, Invisalign® invisible braces offer all of the benefits of traditional orthodontic appliances and nearly none of the downsides. The Invisalign® system consists of a series of custom-shaped, transparent trays which are worn over the teeth. As the trays are made from a transparent plastic, they are nearly invisible, and because no fasteners of any kind are utilized, can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. If your teeth are misaligned and you require braces, you may find Invisalign® to be right for you. Over the course of 18 months or so, you will wear a series of custom-fabricated aligners, replacing each tray approximately every two weeks. These trays, like metal braces, will then guide your teeth into the correct position over time.
Porcelain Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns and bridges are a staple of cosmetic dentistry. At our Century City dental practice, we offer porcelain crowns and bridges for patients whose needs can’t be met with veneers or other restorations. A dental crown is sometimes referred to as a cap, because it is placed over a damaged or decayed tooth, in effect “capping” it. Made from porcelain that is natural looking and durable, a dental crown looks and functions just as a natural tooth would while helping preserve the damaged tooth underneath.
A dental bridge typically consists of a false tooth attached on either end to a dental crown. A bridge is so called because it is designed to bridge gaps in the teeth. If a patient is missing one or more teeth, it is often far more cost effective to restore the functionality and appearance of the smile with one dental restoration, rather than multiple restorations affixed to individual dental implants. Secured to teeth on both sides by dental crowns, the false tooth is further fastened to the gums with dental adhesive.

Correct Minor Flaws for a Perfect Smile
If you are looking to correct an imperfection in your smile, cosmetic dentistry treatment may be for you. Minor cosmetic flaws – including chips, cracks, discoloration, or unsightly gaps – can mar otherwise healthy teeth. With porcelain veneers, you can mask these blemishes. At our Century City dental practice, we are happy to offer patients composite veneers. A minimally-invasive, long-term cosmetic solution that allows for full functionality, veneers offer numerous benefits and can be used to correct a number of common cosmetic flaws. To learn if porcelain veneers are right for you, please contact Dr. Kelly Hong today to schedule a personal consultation.
Porcelain Veneers – What Are They?
Veneers are dental prosthetics that are bonded to the surface of damaged, malformed, or discolored teeth. Crafted from porcelain, these wafer thin shells look like natural teeth and can blend in seamlessly with a person’s smile. Because they are secured to the exterior façade of a tooth, veneers can be used to treat a number of cosmetic flaws, and the placement process is minimally invasive. Other prosthetic options, such as dental crowns, are placed entirely over a damaged or decayed tooth, and though aesthetically pleasing, are intended more for restorative purposes than for cosmetic reasons. With veneers, you can correct problems ranging from minor chips and cracks to gaps and malocclusion in little time at reduced cost.
The Treatment Process
Placing porcelain veneers requires just one visit to our Century City office. With our CEREC® system, we are able to craft laboratory restorations on-site in less than an hour. During your visit, Dr. Hong will discuss your goals with you in detail. This will allow her to customize a treatment plan around your needs and provide her with a better understanding of your expectations. Once Dr. Hong is confident that she can successfully meet your goals, she will prepare the affected teeth by removing a small outer layer of enamel. This step is integral in the placement of porcelain veneers, as space needs to be created so that the prosthetics can sit flush with the rest of the teeth, and an etched surface provides for a better bond than a smooth one. After this step is complete, Dr. Hong will create a computerized map of your teeth so that your veneers can be fabricated specifically to your measurements. This scan will then be input into our CEREC® machine – a 3D mill that can create complete restorations in just 15 minutes.
When your permanent veneers are complete, Dr. Hong will secure your restorations with dental cement. After the veneers have been bonded, Dr. Hong will make slight adjustments as necessary to ensure that the veneers fit nicely with the surrounding teeth and match the color and sheen of your smile. After the treatment process is complete, you can enjoy the benefits of a healthy, beautiful smile!

Porcelain veneers provide many benefits, not the least of which is a beautiful smile that can have a profoundly positive impact on your quality of life. This treatment option is not for everyone though. The placement process requires the permanent removal of dental material and the treatment cannot be reversed. Dazzle with a Bright, White Smile!
One of the simplest ways to improve the look of your smile is with teeth whitening. At our Century City dental practice, we offer a comprehensive selection of cosmetic dentistry treatments, but teeth whitening treatments are among the most popular. Affordable, quick, effective, and pain-free, teeth whitening can make an appreciable difference on the appearance of your smile, improving your self-confidence and self-esteem. A wonderful alternative to more comprehensive treatment options, such as porcelain veneers, teeth whitening may be the solution you’ve been seeking to revive your lackluster smile. To learn more about the teeth whitening options detailed below, please contact Dr. Kelly Hong
Zoom!® Teeth Whitening
The Zoom!® teeth whitening treatment is one of the most popular in the country. Available both as an in-office and at-home whitening system, Zoom!® can produce dramatic results in little time. With the in-office professional whitening system, Dr. Hong first prepares the gums and lips by covering them with a guard. This help prevents the whitening solution from irritating any tissue, though there may still be some slight sensitivity. Once in place, the Zoom!® whitening solution is applied to the teeth and activated by the Zoom!® treatment light. This dental light works in conjunction with the gel to penetrate the teeth and break up stains. After three 15 minute sessions, during which time you can relax, the treatment is complete. Though results vary by patient, Zoom!® can whiten teeth by up to eight shades in just one 45 minute treatment session.
If you prefer to whiten your teeth on your own time in the comfort of your home, the Zoom!® at-home treatment is for you. Though not as effective or as fast-acting as the in-office system, the at-home treatment – a hydrogen peroxide-based gel placed in a mouth tray and worn overnight – can produce noticeable results. In fact the Zoom!® Weekender kit can lighten teeth by up to six shades in just three nights.
Opal Boost Teeth Whitening
We are happy to be able to offer the Opal Boost chairside and at-home teeth whitening system at our Century City practice! As with Zoom!®, the Opal Boost teeth whitening system uses a bleaching gel. Though similar to Zoom!®, the Opal Boost professional teeth whitening treatment can actually be completed in less time. A typical Opal Boost treatment can be completed in approximately 30 minutes, making it one of (if not the) fastest in-office whitening treatment available today. For patients with busy schedules, as well as those who suffer from some degree of dental anxiety, the Opal Boost whitening system is an ideal option as it is extremely quick and effective. After treatment, patients can expect teeth to be whitened by up to 6 shades. If you don’t have time to come in for an appointment, or would simply like to whiten your teeth on your own time, there is also an at-home Opal Boost whitening system.

SNAP ON SMILES
An Affordable, Convenient Cosmetic Solution
A number of cosmetic dentistry options are offered at Kelly Hong Dental to meet the diverse needs of our patients, including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening. For some however, these treatments are either cost prohibitive or don’t provide the comprehensive results they are seeking. For patients looking for an affordable, convenient treatment that provides dramatic improvement, we are happy to offer the Snap-On Smile® at our Century City dental practice. This dental prosthetic is a non-invasive, reversible, removable cosmetic arch which can be placed over the teeth. With no shots and no drilling of any kind, you can have the smile you’ve always dreamt of. If you would like to learn more about the Snap-On Smile®, please feel free to contact Dr. Kelly Hong today to schedule a personal, one-on-one consultation.
Snap-On Smile® – An Attractive Alternative to Fixed Prosthetics
The Snap-On Smile® dental prosthetic can be placed over both the upper and lower teeth to mask imperfections, including chips, cracks, gaps, discoloration, or even missing teeth. The prosthetic is similar in some ways to both dentures and porcelain veneers; the Snap-On Smile® can be removed for oral hygiene and sleeping, and like veneers, is placed over the exterior surface of teeth to serve as a façade. Unlike veneers however, the Snap-On Smile® is not permanently secured, meaning no drilling or removal of dental enamel is required for the placement of the prosthetic, making the treatment process easy and pain free.
Manufactured from a proprietary formula of light weight, high strength dental resin, Snap-On Smile® is both durable and attractive. You can eat and drink with your Snap-On Smile® in place and with proper care, the prosthetic can last from 3-5 years. Perhaps most importantly, Snap-On Smile® is comfortable. You can wear it day in and day out without fear of it causing discomfort or hassle. With Snap-On Smile®, you can regain your smile’s youthful shine and luster, and smile with confidence!
Nearly anyone can benefit from Snap-On Smile®. This treatment option is particularly beneficial for individuals who are seeking a more affordable or more convenient solution to other, more comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dental treatments. Snap-On Smile® is an excellent solution for:
· Gaps, chips, cracks, and stains
· Individuals whose needs don’t merit dental crowns or bridges
· People seeking a complete smile makeover at an affordable price
· Patients who desire a non-invasive cosmetic treatment
If you are a good candidate for Snap-On Smile® and would be interested in revitalizing your teeth, the treatment process is simple. During your first dental appointment, we will take a mold of your teeth and you will pick the shade and style of your dental prosthetic. Once your Snap-On Smile® has been completed, you will return to our Century City dental office to pick up your new prosthetic, and will walk out the door with a functional, natural-looking smile! The process is pain-free and easy, and typically takes no more than 2-3 weeks, but the benefits can last for years.

FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION
Restore the Function and Appearance of Your Smile
Severe dental complications can have an appreciable impact on your quality of life. Missing, severely damaged, or decayed teeth can negatively affect your oral health, appearance, and self-confidence. Individuals who suffer from dental health issues often experience pain and discomfort, and chewing and speaking impairment are typical side effects. By offering restorative dentistry treatment at our Century City dental practice, Dr. Kelly Hong is able to help individuals with poor oral health reclaim a sense of normalcy in their daily lives. Let us help you once again be able to chew, speak, and smile with confidence – small actions that many people take for granted but that can have a profound effect on your happiness. To schedule a consultation, contact Kelly Hong Dental today.
Full Mouth Reconstructions
A full mouth reconstruction is a comprehensive dental treatment for the restoration and restructuring of severely damaged, decayed, or malformed smiles. Employing a wide range of individual treatments, including cosmetic dentistry procedures, full mouth reconstructions are highly individualized, as they are designed specifically around the needs of each patient. In many cases, Dr. Hong will utilize dental implants in the course of a full mouth reconstruction. Acting as artificial tooth roots for dental prosthetics such as crowns and bridges, these titanium posts provide unparalleled strength, durability, and support. If you are missing one or more teeth, gaps can be closed with the use of a dental implant and dental restoration. If you are missing most or all of your teeth, on either the upper or lower part of your mouth, implants can be utilized to act as a support structure for permanent dentures. During your initial consultation with Dr. Hong, she will educate you on the different restorative dentistry options, including full mouth reconstruction. At our Century City practice, we believe our patients should be able to make informed decisions about their oral health.
It is important to note that a full mouth reconstruction can take an extensive amount of time to complete, and the cost of treatment may be prohibitive for some – in such cases, we are happy to help with dental financing. If you are considering a full mouth reconstruction, you should be mindful that individual procedures are often performed separately, not at once, so that the mouth has time to properly heal following each treatment. Additionally, the placement of dental implants requires multiple appointments. Once dental implants are screwed into the jaw bone, the titanium and bone begin to fuse together through a process known as osseointegration. This process results in the implants being securely fastened to the bone, providing them with incredible strength and durability, but the healing process can last up to six months. Having realistic expectations for the cost and duration of your treatment will provide you with a better outlook and make it easier to undergo the treatment process.
TMJ Disorder Treatment
Also known as TMJ syndrome, temporomandibular joint disorder occurs when the joint connecting the lower mandible with the skull becomes inflamed. This condition can cause chronic pain and impairment. Common symptoms of TMJ disorder include headaches, ear aches, jaw pain, difficulty biting or chewing, clicking or popping noises when opening the jaw, reduced ability to open the jaw, dizziness, and even hearing loss. There are a variety of treatments that can be used to help reduce or even eliminate the symptoms of this condition, including:
· Correcting malocclusion
· Splints or night guards
· Active efforts to correct bite
· Anti-inflammatory medications
· Heat and ice application
After evaluating your condition, Dr. Hong will determine the treatment best suited for you. In many cases, a simple change in biting or chewing habit can have a positive impact on the condition and reduce symptoms.
